Keeneland, Lexington Reviews

  • Horse racing anywhere is fun, but this place is beautiful. We went early in the morning to the track kitchen and had breakfast with some of the jockeys and trainers and then headed out to watch the morning work outs. You can also take a tour of the track and get to see the behind the scenes stuff. We purchased tickets for seats in the grandstands for race day and then ended up standing down right at the hedge as the races were so exciting. It's also fun to see them march the horses out of the paddock, finish tacking them up and then load the jockeys to enter the track.

  • Visitors have to do this. I guess all the guides are good because this place rocks everything. Steve is one who gives a great tour. This beautiful track offers tours for $11, which I think is very reasonable. Extremely detailed and knowledgeable. Keeneland is a our gem.

  • The spring and fall meets are so much fun to attend. The general admission section gets full quickly, and it’s mostly standing room only. I suggest spending a few extra dollars for a seat so you can view the races without having to see past peoples heads. I highly recommend the college day during both races, lots of prizes and fun for college students!

  • So much history! Our family does not follow horse racing but I think we'll at least watch the Kentucky Derby going forward. Watching the exercise riders work the horses was awesome! Sitting in the auction room was very impressive as well. Would certainly recommend!

  • Nice walking tour if you are interested. Gift shop is pretty good size with a variety of items. A little more expensive than some places, but not terrible. Staff is very nice.
