Kentucky Horse Park Reviews & Ratings

  • This place is incredible. Visited from GA with 70 year old parents and my 5 and 8 year old daughters. We stayed for 5 hours. Beautiful grounds and horses. The tours, parade of horses, winning circle, etc were all incredible. Excellent museum, as well. Pony ride is best for 5 and under and is two times around a small track. Limited vegetarian choices in the cafeteria and everything is made so couldn't special order, but still 5 stars for this amazing place.

  • We totally enjoyed this experience of learning about horses and getting to see some of them up close. You could do as much or as little as you wanted. it's well organized and you are able to see some shows and also wander as fast or as slow as you choose. The staff have a great depth of knowledge and are willing to answer any questions. You can see much of this in two to three hours. But you could easily spend more time. The facilities are extremely well maintained and spotless.

  • I guess for the horse lover this place would be heaven but that's not me. It was very informational, maybe a bit too much. There is a lot to process here. Who knew there was so much to know about horses. Kinda fitting for Kentucky. Besides that the overall facility needs better access to water fountains. The day we were there it was blazing hot and the few water fountains that were around barely worked. It made it very uncomfortable. The kids loved the pony ride but to be honest it could have been a bit longer. They only got just a few minutes on them. The bigger horse riding was pretty average. Now having had a bit of previous experience riding horses the horse ride was very tame and definitely geared towards first timers. It was very structured and only allowed you to go at a walking pace. I will give it to the staff. They were very helpful and friendly. There wasn't a very good option for food so it's best to plan on bringing your own.

  • Very interesting place to visit. Great horse stables, you can get up close to the horses. Interesting demonstrations. Great for children. Even a wonderful museum - everything horses

  • Loved being able to walk the park, see the horses and demonstrations. We went on a September weekday, so it felt like we had the place all to ourselves. Helpful staff. Tons of reading in the museum.
