Malone's Steakhouse Reviews & Ratings
Our Louisville friends suggested this restaurant. The peak times were full so we reserved at 4:30. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and offered a taste of an unfamiliar wine. We ordered twin filet, baked potato and salad. It was plenty enough for two. I mentioned a birthday at our table and our friend was able to choose a dessert to share. Everything was perfectly prepared to our liking and exceptional! We are from Cincinnati and have enjoyed many local steakhouses. The prices at Malone’s are very competitive and steaks were also every bit as good! It was a wonderful experience! Kudos to the chef and staff! It is a BIG recommend and we will be back!
I expected way more from my first trip to this restaurant. Pros: service was speedy, waiter was friendly, was offered a free dessert for celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The table salad was great. We filled up mostly on the salad as entrees weren’t tolerable. The atmosphere was welcoming. Cons: very over priced. We went in expecting to have a higher bill just based on the name. But the food that we received wasn’t close to worth it. We did not get the rest to go. Both got coach cals chicken. It was two chicken fingers on a bed of spaghetti noodles covered in what only tasted like butter. Not even a garlic butter, or an herb butter, just butter. We couldn’t stomach it. Ordered also a California roll, and a few others. It was just decent too. Very plain Jane, and again over priced. I’d prefer Kroger’s sushi. I wish I could say I’d be back, but that food needs work. I hope we just came on a bad day, or a new hire chef night.
The service was very good. The steaks were tender but not cooked exactly how we asked. Otherwise, the sushi was good and we had an enjoyable time.
We came to celebrate our one year anniversary. I'd begged my lady to bring me the whole time we've been together because I'd been to one of the other locations, years ago, with my family, and it's my parents favorite restaurant. I didn't realize until we arrived that it was a different location. The bread and butter was pretty good. I ordered a pixie stick martini. That was pretty good. Our salads were great! The crab Rangoon roll wasn't bad, but our steaks came out overcooked. My lady sent hers back immediately. I tried mine. She decided just from watching me take one bite that mine needed sent back, too. So, she filled up on salad waiting for the new steaks to come out. They did bring fresh sides, so we weren't stuck eating the cold ones. However, the new steaks were undercooked (still bleeding). They were supposed to be medium well. I ate that one and it wasn't terrible, but my lady had to send hers back, again to be fired back up. That still didn't help. Part of it was over cooked and the middle still wasn't cooked enough. They were kind enough to comp the entire meal with exception of the alcohol, but it didn't make up for the disappointment of not having an amazing meal for our anniversary.
Made reservations from out of town based on a recommendation. Celebrating a once in a lifetime occurrence and really wanted the meal to accentuate the distinctiveness of the event. Blah! This meal was far less than mediocre. The service was fine. The bread and butter that commenced the meal was great, but everything that followed was sad. The steaks, although cooked correctly, were merely ho-hum, especially when taking the cost into consideration. The baked potatoes were typical restaurant prepared baked potatoes. I ordered a Caesar salad which appeared to be a bag of greens thrown on a plate, minimal parmesan cheese and flavorless grilled chicken. The dressing along side was disgusting, utter failure as Caesar salad dressing. The “bottomless salad” served with the rest of the meals was just ok, but still far better than the Caesar salad served as a meal. There were many leftovers of this high priced meal, and not a single person had a desire to take any with them. I don’t understand the high star rating based on this experience at all. We will unequivocally, without a doubt, never go back.
