1. Visit the Museo de Guanacaste

This building, located in the old parts of Liberia was not a museum from its conception. It served as the headquarters of the Plaza that had an armory. It served as a criminal housing center while also providing accommodation to military regiments and government officials when required. The architecture of the building, therefore, is borrowed from the military. Today, however, with the building turned into a museum, the structure is symbolic of the idea of the abolition of the army.
