Lugu Lake - Review
Lugu lake is a wide expanse of still water surrounded by beautiful greenery. The lake is located 200 kilometres from Lijiang. The lake is surrounded by hills. The forest around it is dense. The water is clear enough for you to see that it is full of fish. The lake is shaped in the form of a horse-shoe. Legend says that the lake was formed when a female spirit cried after a lover left her behind with just a hoof-print of his horse. Her tears filled the print and that is the Lugu lake. By the lake, lives a matriarchal society called the Mosuo. You can spend a night here and get to know the interesting lives of these people. Highlights include:
- The five islands
- Migratory Birds
- Visit to a local family
- The Fire Party

Lugu Lake, Lijiang Reviews
Beautiful Lake, but not suggest to stay more than 2 night. Got nothing to do, tasteless food compare to Lijing, plus a lot of place in construction. (April2018) Not a safe place for bicycle, you have to cycling very close with the cargo truck and bus.
It is a very nice lake surrounded with mountains. The Lake is so big that part of it stretches to Sichuan province. It takes about a day to tour round the lake with some rowing boats activities on site.
This is amazing place and The highly recommend spot, with perfect natural view. The transport is kinda awkward, and Chinese is the only way to communicate with the local.
Nice place to stay for a couple of nights. Beyond that it gets boring. Very touristy. There are some nice trekking trails. Transportation was a bit difficult to figure out. Didn't quite understand the park admission fee either.
This is a magical place, lake is changing colours. Can't describe that with words
