The Limehouse Conservation Area in Halton Hills on the Niagara Escarpment is located along the course of the Credit River, being bisected by the Black Creek. The creek favours the growth of the provincially threatened fish, the Redside Dace. From the “Hole in the Wall”, you can access some of the deep rock fissure systems and crevices through the ladders on the Bruce Trail passing through the old growth forestry. The Limehouse Conservation Area is also a regional cultural heritage site owing to the remnants of the lime kilns dating back to 19th century. Hiking through the picturesque meadows covering over 190 acres and mature hardwood forests will let you spot lots of birds and photograph them.
