About Aerobus, Lisbon

Aerobus is a self-propelled electrically powered bus-like vehicle riding on a suspended overhead cable. The cable arrangement, similar to a suspension bridge, allows for long spans of up to 600 metres between pylons. The Aerobus system was invented in the late 1960s by Gerhard Mueller of the GMD Mueller aerial lift company in Switzerland. The patents to Aerobus are currently owned by Aerobus International Ltd. of Houston, Texas, United States.

Aerobus, Lisbon Reviews - Write a Review

  • This bus is unreliable. We arrived on a weekday evening and had to wait an hour and 10 minutes at the airport for the bus to show up. There are better options out there (like the metro - cheaper and definitely more reliable.)

  • Waited over 30mins for a bus to airport, no way to track how often they come and how long it will take. Aside from that it is clean and convenient.

  • Goes in circles without telling you, loud music.

  • No reliable departure time. Drivers don't follow timetable at all. It would be a very nice service.
