Gare De Oriente - Review
A stunning modern marvel in the Western territory of Lisbon is the Gare do Oriente, It is a standout amongst the most significant transport center points in the nation's capital. The Gare Do Oriente is a multi-purpose station and hence is a hub for tourists that certainly makes it worth a look but what is striking is the architecture.
The roof, built in the form of waves especially is its most striking feature. The exterior of the station is very striking and you are not likely to miss it if you are anywhere nearby but the interiors are equally beautiful. Painted with murals and modern art, it makes it worthwhile to visit the station even if you don’t happen to be travelling by train.

Gare De Oriente, Lisbon Reviews
The lift to the top floor took at least 6 minutes to take me up one floor! For some reason it goes from the bottom floor to the top floor and only then it picks up people from the middle floor when it’s on it’s way down! What an engendering marvel! Why can’t it just pick me up when it’s going up? Next, the security guys are rude and useless not to mention their disregard for the facility where they work since I saw two securities walking past a hot dog which someone dropped and didn’t even call the cleaners to deal with it and it was quite desgusting, but it seems about right since the whole facility is dirty. Lack of signage is just mind boggling and different ticket offices at different ends of the middle floor make this place the biggest joke. Lastly, I was also waiting for a train which was delayed 3 HOURS and since I was tired I though I could lie down and take a little nap. HOW WRONG I WAS! apparently people cannot sleep in their facility! Even though they are a transportation platform where people are constantly waiting for transports! That’s all I guess...unless there’s no other option...you won’t catch me there anytime soon
Stunning building first of all really cool design. Howver signage is definatley needed, to guide the non local. Its big so is quite confusing. Its a bus and train station so easy access from downtown lisbon, with very regular service
It is a station with large space for trains, busses and metro's to the rest of Lisboa. Beatifull architecture and close to shopping center Oriente.
A nightmare! Very shabby and run down, dirty, no screens to tell you which buses are at which stops, Intercentro is at the end of the station and hard to find, Alsa buses come late, bus Drivers are grumpy and rude.... etc
Stunning piece of art. We travelled here just to look at the train station architecture by Calatrava. Worth a look if you are interested in architecture.
