  • I did not enjoy the permanent collection that much, it was just not my cup of tea... I felt as though they had picked the weirdest possible paintings etc. from the artists. BUT the exhibitions were AMAZING!! I especially loved ”Purple”. It’s a pretty big museum so I would recommend to reserve at least 2-2.5 hours for this.

  • This collection doesn't get the praise it deserves. This is a must for any art lover while in Lisbon. The lower floors contain excellent temporary exhibits, and the upper floors contain a thorough trip through contemporary (mostly) European art history. The building design guides you. I spent more time here than I typically do at art galleries/museums. I could not believe I mostly had the place to myself, and paid a mere €5. Absolutely worth it!

  • Disclaimer: I don't know anything about art, but I really enjoyed this museum. It focuses on the different artistic periods of the 20th and 21st centuries and gives good background into the different movements and their historical context. There are all kinds of works here, and though I found some thoroughly weird I'm sure someone appreciates them. Good price, really good gift shop and friendly staff. Worth a visit!

  • Plenty of art pieces. Unfortunately our visit took place at a time when two exhibitions were being changed, hence we managed to see less than normally. Big plus for the pieces by the best of the best such as Picasso and Dali - even if only for those two (which is basically not the case), it's worth visiting.

  • Great building on the exterior but I really didn't enjoy the interior or the exhibits. There are not many places to sit in the galleries and the information boards are very small. The Gulbenkian museum is an uplifting delightful and joyful place, whereas I found the Berardo tiring and rather depressing 😒
