Beer holds a special place in the hearts of the Portuguese; enough that they dedicated an entire museum to the history of beer in the country. Starting from the days of discovery of beer in Mesopotamia 6000 or so years ago, the museum tracks the beverage’s introduction to the country; its role in the various Portuguese speaking nations (Angola, Brazil, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Sao Tome and Principe, Guinea-Bissau), and even the reconstruction of an old 16th century monastic cellar where beer was once produced by hand. Naturally, there is beer-tasting and finger-food included with the tour.

  • It was great, sat outside in the mid November sunshine watching the world go by. The beer was good too! Just settled for the local branca brew, but it hit the spot. The glasses come with what looks like an upturned beer bottle inside. The building is great inside, a wonderful display of worldwide beer on the wall. Very plush inside, the poshest beer house by far!!

  • Nice place, great drinks and friendly staff. I don't drink, but they had good options for me and my friends loved their mixed drinks as well. I didn't get to taste the food because we just went there for drinks. But a few of our friends ordered food and were happy with it.

  • Was sitting inside like a small house, sooo a lot light, very warm atmosphere, cozy.Food expensive but really nice, you need to try beer!!!:))

  • Got to be the most pointless beer museum in the world. They only really do two beers & production didn't start in the country until the 20th century. Beautiful setting though.

  • Terrace restaurant, part of the beer museum. Good house beer. Fancy interior. High prices for food. Nice location.
