This very well-known aquarium in Lisbon is also said to be one of the most impressive ones in the entire world. The building that houses the museum itself is lovely and symbolic of the idea of the unity of the ocean.
There are several exhibits and you will get to see marine life from around the world in this gigantic space. The habitats made have been specifically designed to ensure that the animals are able to live comfortably in the aquarium. Every effort is made to conserve the species that have been kept here. But while the animals are in great hands, so are the visitors.
The displays are simply fabulous and being here is sure to be an informative as well as entertaining experience. It is ideal for people travelling with their family but is equally suitable for all ages. Watching the ocean giants as they swim across though acrylic displays is certainly a surreal experience.

Oceanario De Lisboa, Lisbon Reviews - Write a Review
Great for a day out together with kids. This is really Cool and its Will give good view of the ocean life. For kids there is also a special theme part where They can watch an info-cartoon and learn about ocean wildlife. What makers its amazing is From how close you can view the various types of fish in the aquarium, almost like you are swimming in between. Definitely worth a visit!
This aquarium was so awesome!! It was very very big and you could have a quiet look from a lot of different angles. They also had penguins 🐧 and otters, which was lovely. The feeding time was just not according to the schedule, which was a bummer (we waited half an hour at the penguins) but I guess that’s Portuguese time punctuality. I would definitely recommend visiting the aquarium, we spent there at least 3,5 hours.
I've liked the visit, but I really expected much more for this price. First it's not indicated or advertised anywhere. The different areas are very well replicated, but the overall extension itself is not very big. Everything is organized around a big tank where you can see rays, sharks, small and big fishes... All together. And then other small tank with octopus, star fish, seahorse, squids, frogs, clown fish and many other smaller species. We've spend skeins 2h going with a 3 years old girl that wanted to stop at every "window". We've enjoyed (specially my daughter) but bigger would be much better : no turtles!?!?
Extraordinary aquarium and, apparently, the largest in Europe. From the architectural design of the building to the layout of the aquarium, this is truly an amazing experience given the large range of marine species and the illusion of being out in the ocean. Great experience for both adults and children but I would recommend visiting off-peak to appreciate the true wonder of this gem.
I love this place. I went there with my girlfriend and her sister. We had a lovely time there. They have a great variety of animals. Panels with descriptions of the animals are short but clear. My girlfriend and her sister love diving, therefore it was great for them to see animals that brought the many positive memory. There were numerous families with children of all ages and they seemed to have a good time there. I really recommend it.
