The Praca do Imperio or the Empire Square was built to celebrate the Portuguese empire and stands as a symbol of it. Located in the Belem district, it is also located right next to two of the city’s most important landmarks; the Jeronimos Monastery and the Belem Tower.
The Praca do Imperio gardens make it a lovely and refreshing spot for weary tourists. There are also three different lakes as well as beautiful flowers and flowerbeds that surround it.
