When you look at San Roque Church from the outside you will think of simplicity. The plain white exteriors are simple and elegant. However, the interiors are a whole different story. The church is one of the most heavily embellished and expensively decorated churches in this world. The amazing work in ivory lapis lazuli and many other rare materials is worth admiring. Details and intricacies of all sorts make it a visual treat par excellence.
The Museum of Sacred Art is certainly worth visiting. Lovely paintings that depict the many events in Christianity have been displayed here in a very charming way. It also has an impressive collection of silverware and clothes from the royal era.

Sao Roque Church And Museum Reviews & Ratings
The most beautiful and rich church we've seen in Lisbon! Lots of chapels with different art styles, gorgeous paintings all around. We event found a free Russian icons exposition at the back, extremely interesting
An old Church. You can go in, but much better from outside. You can approach it with an elevator or by walk. There are a lot of restaurants in nearby. Grab a glass of wine and enjoy the view. 🍷
One of the most beautiful churches in Lisbon! Definitely worth a visit. There is also a museum attached that is worth checking out as well. For those that celebrate Mass, they do have regular services. The church does close down in the evening so plan your visit accordingly. Worth checking out!
Really old, very detailed church with many side chapels, many featuring little cherub statues by the dozen. great for a short visit, and the adjoining museum advertised additional artwork, although we were good with just the church.
A very nice church to visit - easy to spot on the street - inside it offers some lovely decorations.
