About Kasteel Keukenhof, Lisse
The castle was built in 1641 as a country house. The word Keukenhof means 'kitchen'; in the Jacqueline, Countess of Hainaut used the castle's parks and the nearby Keukenhof Gardens as her herb garden. The castle has since had quite a rich 400 years worth of history. As you're guided through the interior, that history will be brought to life for you through portraits, furniture, monuments and decoration. Altogether there are five areas for you to explore: the main castle, the coach house, Frederick's Court, the court farm, and the 200 acres of woodlands surrounding the castle. When you visit the Castle, there may be a special flower exhibition at the park. It's worth checking out, especially as the fee is covered in the admission price. The food at the restaurant is pretty good, very innovative. And finally, there are events at the castle throughout the year - concerts, festivals, medieval fairs and of course, the spring flower show.

Kasteel Keukenhof, Lisse Reviews - Write a Review
A must watch place if your in Holland in the month of May. Great place for photography and colorful treat welcomes you everywhere. Tulips everywhere and other flora as well. Don't miss the windmill area as well. A lot of walking to be done, but it's all worthy. Easily takes a whole day to cover. With good food options and resting place this keeps you going.Parking is huge and easy. Lots of timely public transport available from the nearest station. A souvenir shop exists and a buy would surely keep memories Intact.
Marvellous place! The parking place is big and coordinated by the staff. There are options for lunch and a good coffee shop in front of lake where can ride in a gondola. The flower fields and gardens are beautiful. It is a obligatory place to go when you travel around there.
Only the best garden I have seen! Definitely want to come back. FYI, it is only open for 3 months in a year, only in Spring season. Good to visit for the whole day even, they have food plazas, shops and restrooms. Usually a crowded place, tourists from all over the world can be seen here. Maybe visiting at earlier times would have less people.
Its not just tulips, theres 100s of different kinds of flowers. Very busy as it is a very popular tourist spot and its only seasonal, Feb to may I believe... But worth it. Just impressive how many there are and its beautiful with all the colours
Really beautiful place and major tourist attraction in Netherlands. Try and visit in the first week of May to get best pictures and views. Later in the month they start harvesting. Must visit without a doubt.
