Baikal Limnological Museum, Listvyanka Reviews - Write a Review
The museum is very nice and not too difficult to get to, provided you're willing to use the often overflowing taxi vans. The interior of the museum has some information in English, though the majority is in Russian. However, most of the material doesn't need descriptions, as it consists of stunning photos taken in winter, interesting artifacts from the lake, detailed topographical models showcasing the depth of the lake, or marine life.
Fascinating museum. Make sure you do the submarine experience. They have a show in English. It was so educational!
You can see nerpa!
Though not all exhibitions and descriptions are in English, you still get a good value for money at 310rubles. There is an aquarium with 2 Baikal seals among other Baikal fishes. I liked the 15mins Baikal diving movie which is in English.
The museum itself looks nice, but if you don't speek and read russian, it is really hard to understand everything.
