  • Kayak Mendocino was absolutely amazing. Craig, our tour guide, was an extremely kind individual that ensured we had the best time out there. We went through multiple sea caves that provided a once in a lifetime view. We also were able to visit the harbor seals up close while Craig provided some information about them. Craig was very knowledgeable about the ecology and the ocean in general. He also explained the variety of sea creatures and sea weed and answered any questions we might have had. Overall, I highly recommend Kayak Mendocino for a unique ocean experience.

  • Read the don't get the vibe review and disregarded it. Glad I did! Craig, I assume, is the owner could not have been better with our group. He's very knowledgable and attentive to everyone. It was a great tour. Man would it not be nice if you could please 100% of the people 100% of the time! We did the 2 up and seemed like we were working less than the one ups.

  • Would have been 5 stars, but the owner/operator was pretty rude to us. Seemed bothered we were there. We had texted, and called and made the reservation for 2 PM, he had us down at 11 AM. He is super disorganized. Seemed pissed but it was his mistake. Got pissed also when we wanted to "read" the waiver he made us all sign. Not really digging the vibe from him. That aside, our actual tour guide was awesome. He was an art/photography teacher, surfer and outdoor guru. The caves were cool. The kayaks are decent and we had a great time. If the sea cooperates, you will have an awesome paddle. Ignore the owner if he is having a bad day.

  • This tour is AWESOME! The owner was our guide and possessed a TREMENDOUS amount of knowledge about the local area as well as general knowledge of the sea, tides, wildlife, reading the waves, weather, and kayaking. He was incredibly flexible with our schedule/needs and gave us an amazing experience for a VERY reasonable price. We saw seals, starfish, huge waves (but were kept extremely safe the entire time), and sea caves. The waves kept us out of some of the caves, but we saw others nonetheless. He even offered to take us out again for free to get inside the other caves. Been on MANY adventure tours, but seldom do I come across a guide/owner that has such a breadth of knowledge. He simply wants people to get the experience of the spectacular Mendocino coast, the money is secondary. This is not a solicited advertisement. This is just how GREAT of an experience my wife and I had! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Sea stacks, sea caves, beautiful blue water, possibly big waves off shore, seals, sea lions, amazing guide/local information, superb safety (he even spoke of towing people that had a hard time paddling back by pulling them with his own kayak), perfect weather, and INCREDIBLE scenery. Couldn't ask for a better tour, and the price is honestly less than many lower quality tours/excursions. A++++++++
