Little Rock Tourism

Arkansas State’s capital, Little Rock, is located almost right in the centre of the state. Not just politically, but the city is set in the centre even in geographical terms. On one side of the city, you will see flat planes with abundant farmland and one the other, there are tall mountains covered with wilderness. Despite this diversity, Little Rock is city that tries to capture the best of opposites. On one hand, there are serious museums and buildings from the Civil War era, while on the other, there are amusement parks and fun activities to do all day long. You could easily be hiking on a very beautiful nature trail in the morning and come evening, could be sipping wine at one of the vineyards. You may admire the replica of the Capitol Hill in the morning, and stretch your vocal chords in one of the many live performances that dominate the nightlife of the city. When in Little Rock, you can never say no to any experience. Little Rock is named after the rock formation used as a marker for river crossing. These rocks were also known as ‘Le Petit Rocher’ in the 18th century. This city was made the capital of Arkansas in 1819. From then, the city has evolved to be a thriving center of economic and cultural growth. Probably the most famous citizens to have called Arkansas home is the former President of the United States, Bill Clinton. The Clintons served as a governor of the state and for two terms in the 1980s. Their daughter Chelsea was born in Little Rock. Winthrop Rockefeller, grandson of John D. Rockefeller, served as a Republican governor of Arkansas and resided in Little Rock. What makes this city popular today is that this is one of the best places to go on a vacation with your family. Much of the activities held here are group or family oriented and hence, families often spend much of their time out here. Kids can have fun on their own while adults sit back and relax.
