Standing on the right bank of Ljubljana River, Gruber Palace used to be a research institute of Gabrial Gruber. He was a Jesuit who constructed the Grubar Canal to regulate the flow of Ljubljana River. He lived in this castle till 1784 and turned this castle into a physics and hydraulic research institute. The architectural style of the building has influence of both Baroque and Rococo style of design. You can still see its evidence from the exterior of the palace.
Today the castle has been turned in the National Archive of Slovenia by Carniolan Saving Bank.
