Very picturesque wander around this lovely nature reserve. Well sign posted route. We loved scrambling aling the rocky river bank feeling like explorers as well as drifting through the woodland.
Lovely place for a nice quite walking, walking boots or stout shoes are required if you want to walk further along the river as there are rocks and steps along there
Very nice reserve, although not disabled friendly at all, just to warn anyone (the boardwalk has frequent gaps in it, so no wheelchair access). The main circular walk is a fairly standard mid-wales walk by a river - lots of ups and downs over rocks - not for the unfit. Lots of wildlife though everywhere. Few signs in visitor car park to tell you whats been spotted recently. Picnic benches and a portaloo just to the side of the main car park.
superb reserve .fantastic birdwatching from the boardwalk and oak wood .also great show of bluebell and other flowers.to sit on the bench by the river is very spiritual looking at the scenery and the nearby dipper.
Really nice reserve. Long circular walk which is not really for the non nimble of foot in places but really worth the effort. Wonderful views of the rocky River gorge and woodland experience. Saw our 1st ever Wood Warblers there and are planning to go back next spring. Very much out in the wilderness up in the hills of mid Wales which makes it a bit of an interesting but nevertheless pretty stunning drive to get there and well worth it.
