If a walk through the wilderness is your idea of a great time, Newnans Lake Conservation Area in Gainesville should be included in your things to do in Florida. The Area spans over 5000 acres and encompasses the Newnans Lake that offers a stunning aqua relief amidst the abundant flora. If you are a wildlife lover, you might also get to spot such species like the white-tailed deer, otter, fox and several varieties of snakes, shore birds and wading birds. Adventure activities like hiking, cycling horseback riding and canoeing are also allowed for the enthusiasts. If you prefer a quiet morning by the lake, you can also fish for catfish, bream and other varieties. If not, pack a picnic basket and laze around with family and friends.
Newnans Lake Conservation Area Reviews & Ratings
Larger than I thought. Shallow in most places. Large amount of Gar fish. And great weed lines and Cyprus trees to fish around. The boat ramps are great.
Beautiful place just outside of town. You need bug spray and watch out for snakes enjoy!
Beautiful plac to watch the sun rise.
Very good place for peace and happiness
