Celebrity Wax Museum - Review

An attempt to recreate the Madame Tussauds in Lonavla, the celebrity waz museum is a brain child of Mr. Sunil Kandalloor. Having created was museums in couple of other places in India; the Celebrity wax museum at Lonavla is an interesting twist from the other natural attractions. Featuring international celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Bruce Lee, the museum mostly has wax statues of Indian celebrities like sportsman Kapil Dev, Politician Narendra Modi and activist Anna Hazare and many more upcoming attractions with new models from Bollywood and Hollywood.

Very good for tourists but it would be awesome if someone visit that place by motorbike. Weather is awesome in rainy season. If you do not own a bike then you can hire from http://www.snapbikes.com . Also, visit Lohgad fort, Tamhini Ghat and many more places nearby it.

  • The wax museum is so so. There are very few celebrities. Though the attempt and art is very good, if you expect perfection, you will not be very happy. The wax museum is in mall. Washrooms aren't very clean. There are other options near wax museum in same mall, The virtual movie , though it's kind of innovative, we didn't find it very amusing, and suffered motion sickness. Horror house is also so-so... In all you can not spend more than a 1 &1/2 hour in mall. (Including the wax museum)...

  • Nice place to visit. A bit disappointment after seeing less amount of statues. I expected more than this. With a cost of 200 per ticket, there should be more attractions to see. Its only a 10 minutes walk to see all the statues. They are even degrading in quality. Some of them look very realistic while some are not. You should include more famous celebrities.

  • A must experience! If you are visiting Lonavala and have some time to spare, or wish to save yourself from Sun / heat, consider spending an hour here. Click loads of pictures an heather memories... Work worth appreciation. Beautifully moulded dolls! Make sure you don't go there with a scarce battery and memory of your camera. You are going to click a lots of pictures. Location: Easily accessible. Staff: Decent and cooperative Tickets: INR 200/head

  • Amazing wax museum Lively wax statuses of various celebrities. You can take photos with your idols. Really great experience one shall not miss it. Have lot of fun activities outside museum so that kids have entertainment too. The creation of statuses is so precise difficult to identify from live. Great place

  • Hard work needs to be appreciated. Sunil has put in a lot of hard work time and effort to make these wax statues. Minute details have been given attention and made visible. While some statues are lifelike possibly because the artist had a chance to take real measurements of the celebrities involved, others are far from real. So do not keep your expectations too high. Also they only take cash and the entry fee of Rs 200 seems obnoxiously elevated. However kids would certainly be delighted to see the wax statues. They also charge for parking which seems unnecessary given the entrance fee is quite high.
