Bevis Marks Synagogue Reviews & Ratings
Cynically surrounded by modern buildings as if to say: "You see we preserved it and didn't knock it down." Impossible to find because it's just hidden in an artificial courtyard cowering amongst offices... I was also surprised to find that it cost money to get in. (Not if you come to pray- they added).
Just be aware that their website is a total mess and confusing! I have turned up for a lecture , to find out that actually it was over!!! The person who opened the door did not even know about what’s going on, so please don’t listen to other people how nice it is also it is very difficult to find it, so personally speaking I would not recommend to anyone! Good luck with it!
A great shul for services with an amazing community. I highly recommend for Friday night and Shabbat morning services.
Lovely 1701 synagogue!!! Assisted friday night service, the nusach is spanish-portuguese as in amsterdam. Tfila was followed by asmall kiddush, and then we headed to have shabbes dinner at the adjacent rabbis house. Lovely people, awesome food, very familiar experience. Great to go if youre staying shabbat in the centre.
Beautiful place, beautiful sounds, intelligent officials.
