  • The reviews we read about this hotel online were so negative that our expectations were low. We were very pleasantly surprised. We booked for 1 night, last minute at a discounted rate. The reception staff were professional, the decor was fine. There was an elevator. It was very quiet, no noise from other rooms or outside. Our room was windowless (expected), but surprisingly big! The bathroom was modern, with all the usual free toiletries to use. Everything was clean. The only 2 negatives were that the double bed was 2 singles pushed together and no fridge in the room.

  • Reasonable value for money if you check on line for deals. Great staff. Nice food available on site and even room service is reasonably priced - though bottled beer only on the menu. Bar downstairs has draught beer though. Health suite is nice but smelled like onions when we went. Decor does show signs of use but overall liked the place.

  • Nice rooms but terrible staff. Stayed here for five nights had a lovely comfortable room and the rates are very competitive. The staff are another story. Had dinner here one night and when I paid the waiter decided to keep my change. I wouldn't mind but I was going to give him a bigger tip if he gave me my change back. The girl at the bar wouldn't give me a pint of coke. She told me the till didn't have that on it so I said that's ok charge me for two cokes and put them in a pint glass with ice she told me she couldn't do that. The lights were on but nobody was home. Went for the cooked breakfast one morning and it was of such bad quality I refused to pay for it. So in short stay here on a B&B package and go for the continental breakfast if you want a cooked breakfast go over to canary wharf.

  • Location of hotel is excellent, a short walk to Canary Wharf. Staff on reception were efficient and polite. My room was a twin room on the first floor. Whilst spacious with an ensuite and very clean, the decor was somewhat dated with a strange mural painted on the wall and no window. There was also no air conditioning, but a small fan had been provided. I found the room too warm. Otherwise the room was well equipped with iron, ironing board, hair dryer as well as the usual facilities to make a tea/coffee. All in all, pretty good considering the prices of other hotels in the locality.

  • It looks good from the outside. But upon further inspection it wasn't all that. The rooms were dull and substandard. However it was clean. The staff were great. And my advice is don't pay for a room with a view. That's what I done. There was seriously no point as the windows were dirty on the outside.
