  • Food and tea is fine. Not impressive for the price. I believe there is dress code but not strictly enforced. I saw quite a few groups of people wearing t shirts and sandals which I definitely won't considered as "smart casual". The service was bad for one specific waiter (others seem to be fine) but that ruins our experience. The waiter didn't ask what we would like to drink in the beginning. We added Champagne and water later on and he didn't bother to ask us what type of champagne or water we would like. He assumed the Champagne we would like and bring it to us directly. The explanation of the difference of the tea is also unprofessional as if we are not worth his time for the explanation. Besides this specific waiter, the experience overall is ok. If you don't mind a tourist hype kind of place, might worth visiting once. I personally wouldn't come back again.

  • Terrible experience, lots of confusion, poor communication and unprofessional staff. We booked ahead and were not informed (neither during the booking nor when I called to reconfirm) that every party member is required to order a full set menu - else we would have chosen a different venue. Staff was very rude when explaining this policy to us, up to the point that I offered to leave so my parents could enjoy their afternoon tea (one each). After literally 5min discussion, when I declined to order food that would go straight to waste and was about to leave the venue, the manager in charge offered as a compromise that I could order only a main dish (as they have on the menu in combination with scones and patisserie); she was very clear that this would include main and tea and when I agreed and ordered the food, she repeatedly came to the table asking if I had already ordered this complimentary tea. Ultimately, the 'complimentary' pot of simple tea appeared at 6GBP on our bill. Truly unprofessional. With regard to the afternoon tea experience of my parents - if you are after all-you-can-eat sandwiches, then this is the place, but neither patisserie nor scones convinced us and without re-ordering the food (which is possible, though they may not communicate this always), clearly not worth the money.

  • We had a lovely time. Food and service were great. As a matter of fact, we will be returning at Christmas.

  • It's too much for three girls… we can't make sure why they don't allow us have two set meals for three girls… after all, it's delicious

  • Treated like Queens for the day! I have read all the reviews and I personally think people haven't been telling the truth. I went with a friend who was given a tea for two gift for her birthday we were greeted and seated straight away by a lovely gentleman called Jose. We both opted for veg tea but my friend said she wanted salmon which Jose kindly went out of his way to get separately. Scones were fluffy and warm lemon curd ,strawberry jam and cream were given but we were asked if we would like raspberry fab flavours! Teas were explained and recommended which was delicious we enjoyed them and had 2 lots of refills We sat, ate and talked for over 3 hours we didn't feel rushed at all. People came and went there was a very big group (15 or more) which staff took in their efficient stride Everyone looked relaxed in the opulent atmosphere of Fortnum and Masons I can't thank them enough for the service we had especially Jose. We will be coming back soon Shahina & Glen
