  • We were extremely excited to visit Gymkhana, as we'd heard excellent reviews. The service, however, was beyond disappointing, and I am still baffled as it looks like so many other people had great experiences. 1) We were kindly asked to wait at the bar while our table was being prepared -- no issue with that, except the bartender did not pay any attention to us despite the fact that we were the only people sitting there. What's the point of sending us to the bar if you're not going to take our drink order? 2) We made it clear that it was our first time at Gymkhana, and neither my boyfriend nor I have had much Indian food before. While other reviewers say their servers were welcoming and explained the level of spiciness of different dishes, the lady serving us did not bother to explain anything whatsoever. As a result, we ended up ordering one of the spiciest dishes on the menu, apparently, and neither of us could eat it. I totally understand that Indian food is spicy and I like spicy food, but this dish was simply unbearable. Same goes for one of our appetizers. We were too uncomfortable and, at that point, annoyed to argue/send anything back. I think it guests say it's their first time at the restaurant, it would be great if the waiter/waitress could offer an explanation of the dishes/levels of spiciness. The dishes that were not spicy to death were quite good, but overall the service left us wanting.

  • What a great experience!! The food was the best I ever had. Everything tasted like out of planet. I have travelled entire India and many places and yet I can tell you that the food was awesome. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. If I visit London again, I will go there for sure.

  • We experienced really good food and service when visiting Gymkhana for lunch. Visited as a birthday treat and opted to have the 6 course Vegetarian tasting menu. All of the food was beautifully flavoured and really well cooked. The chaat springs to mind for the fact that it was brimming with flavour. With regard to service one of the waiting staff asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion and after discovering we were celebrating a birthday they arranged for a small complimentary cake. All in all a very nice experience at Gymkhana!

  • A five star dining experience in central London. Innovative menu , attentive service and great eye for taste and detail. Make sure you make a reservation before going there. Very popular restaurant. Rightly so.

  • The most delicious Indian food we have enjoyed to date. We had the a few appetizers as part of the two course lunch menu and mains of chicken butter masala and tandoori guinea fowl which was very tender and tasty. We enjoyed a carafe of red wine paired with our meal. We also added a bread basket. The sauces and sides were flavorful and the perfect level of spicy heat. The staff were attentive and lovely. Highly recommend!
