Nice big music shop. Unfortunately, everything it sells, is far cheaper online eg. at Amazon. But it's good for browsing. Its much more fun looking at things in a real shop, compared to looking online. They do a loyalty card, but all you get are points for entering into competitions (raffles). Staff are nice. Atmosphere is nice.
Patrick was really friendly and extremely helpful. Made my Christmas shopping way less stressful. Thank you dear for a lovely chat and your recommendations.
Going down big time. A wander through the store is like a V&A retrospective of an Eighties retail experience. This is free time-travel but it comes at a cost for the business owner. Grab it while you can. The word is that the Chinese owners can't service the debt. Management are clearly suffering from Kodak Syndrome, a slow burning myopic denial of new technology...ultimately fatal. Bittersweet.
Such a shame that their vulture owners have driven them to administration again, but still the best place for a good browse on the High St. Loads of stuff, often at good prices, and huge amounts of undiscovered or unknown interesting DVDs and music that you simply wouldn't see or check if looking online. They can't stock everything, but the range is generally good. Staff generally friendly and full of advice and recommendations. I'd rather see fewer promotions (seems like 5 or 6 sales/deals at all times) because that sort of pushes up prices of non-sale stuff, and makes me reluctant to buy one or two things if I have to spend an hour finding another 3 just to get decent value. But it's still where I occasionally discover a gem, and I still value owning things myself (not streaming or or buying downloads which can still be lost or removed).
Very busy late night shop before Xmas. I was after a particular band tee shirt. The sizes on shelf were all XXL but on enquiry GUSTAVO not only went to the store room.. and after some time looking found some size small!!! Thank-you GUSTAVO you made my Christmas shop a success!!!!
