  • Arriving on a Sunday morning at 11, our party of 3 was informed that the breakfast menu was on til 12 after which the regular menu was offered. Having had our hearts set on a feast of pies, sausages and mash, we decided to wait to order, in the mean time, having tea and toast. Saying that, we had tea. The toast & jam took 40 minutes to prepare! When delivered the toast was not even warm, and it was a toast sandwich, with the jam in between. Only one slice of toast had been buttered, too. Rather disappointing to say the least. When we did order the pies, mash and gravy, this only took 10 minutes. Quite the astonishing difference is serving speed. Whilst on the topic of serving, the waitress, whilst certainly amiable, had the distinct look of disinterest. No eye contact at any point and made me feel like we were just an inconvenience rather than customers. The saving grave keeping the review at 3 stars was that the pies, mash, sausages and gravy that we all ordered were delicious. It would even have made 4 stars on that alone, however my bubble & squeak was missing cabbage! If I was going to eat their fare again, it'd be takeaway at best.

  • This place is great! I had the Cumberland sausage with bubble and squeak and Farmer’s gravy and I loved it. Service was a little slow, but not bad. Be sure to make a reservation.

  • Food was good and the owner was accommodating. We didn't wait too long in the line though the restaurant is a little bit small so they could only fit a number of people. For the food try the lamb pie!- i think its the special of the day

  • I have been a customer here for many years and just feel like doing my part and leaving a well earned review. Food is quality and Staff are amazing. That is all I have to say really.

  • Amazing service, the staff were charming and bent over backwards. Food came very fast, and was absolutely delicious. Does what it says on the tin, mash, sausages/pie, gravy; but does it exceptionally well.
