We approached the hotel via Mulberry Street in a car. The signage needs improving as it was difficult finding the entrance; there is a very small Qbic sign high above the entrance which is difficult to see when under it. I liked the self checking in but had to be shown how to use it which kind of defeated the purpose. Again better signage would help. The staff were easy to locate, they were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is very clean and has a charming Nordic feel. We were in a basement room (no window obviously). The room was large and well ventilated and not having a window was no detraction, in fact I preferred it as it made the room very quiet and dark when the lights were out. It would have been nice if coffee making facilities were available for the basement rooms as it was a bit of a trek to the first floor. Our bed was very large and comfortable; no complaints there. All in all a very pleasurable stay. The hotel is quirky and not your usual London bog standard chain which certainly added to our stay. Unfortunately we did not have an opportunity to eat in the hotel as we were visiting relatives but the menu looked fantastic. The rooms are reasonably priced and would recommend that you give them a try.
Overall the hotel itself is good but the service is very bad. The design of the room is simple but yet good, the design of the bar and restaurant is very "pinteresty". Green hotel with an emphasis on reducing waste (But you change the towels everyday, how about a "drop the towels on the floor and we change it" policy). One very good point : the beds. I have never slept on such a good bed ever in a hotel. Best sleep in a very long time for me and my wife. One very bad point : the service of more likely lack of service. Our experience at Qbic Hotels was very mixed because of these two polarizing points. If you are looking at the best place to sleep in the East-end, you found it, but don't expect more than great sleep and a good room, especially if you are looking for a good service or even just basic service. Too bad for you Qbic, you forgot the "hospitality" part of being a hotel
Again visiting a business visit to the city of London and staying at the Qbic hotel. The hotel has a comfortable atmosphere and the rooms are tidy and clean. It is however advisable to book a room with a window. The breakfast is good and complete. Checkin-procedure has changed to a self-service. This makes the 'feeling-welcome' a bit less. Further it is a very nice hotel, near subway stations and great stay for a night or a city trip.
Really enjoyable stay in a stylish hotel which boasts a very individual feel and atmosphere, alongside comfortable accommodations. A lovely ethical ethos as well. Great location for access to central London from the east, and can't be beaten on price and service. Highly recommend
It might not have the most kerb appeal around, but once you're inside this gem of a hotel it's a whole different story. Particularly loved the feel of the restaurant and bar area, and the breakfast was excellent. The bedrooms continued the quirky feel, with the designers making the most of what was quite limited space floor space, and the bed was extremely comfortable.
