  • Born in The City of London Maternity Hospital in 1932. Makes me a cockney, but raised in Kent, so never Picked up the lingo. This is my first view of the Famous building. Looks alright to me. A lot of glass and concrete surrounding it though.

  • Designed by Sir Christopher Wren this iconic church is famous for it's peal of bells. You're a true Cockney if you were born within their sound.

  • St Mary-le-Bow is a beautiful Church, which has so much character and charm, nested into a cozy part of Cheapside. There is a lovely cafe available if you with to enjoy a meal during your visit.

  • I have to say I really do adore this lovely church. The spire is acknowledges as being one of Wren's finest and most majestic in the City of London and it's up in the belfry hang the fabled bow bells. To be a cockney you must be born within the sound of Bow Bells. However, for me one of the treasures of the church is the lovely old crypt chapel reached down a flight of stairs in the south west corner of the churchyard. It's such a peaceful and tranquil place and has a magical ambiance to it that keeps the 21st century ell at bay.
