  • Great horses for all abilities at both stables for hacking and lessons. Very friendly and helpful staff and the instructors are happy to work with you on aspects of your riding that you need to focus on. I have never had a bad experience at either stable and am impressed with the communication when booking.

  • My daughter had an amazing ride! The instructor was so helpful and obviously loved her job which made the experience all the better. The receptionists at Stag Lodge 1 are so kind and genuine - they go above and beyond the call of duty to make you comfortable and happy! Exceptional staff who are all a great to have a laugh with and care about your time there. Colour me impressed Stag Lodge! We'll be coming back very soon!

  • A lovely place to ride and the staff are great. We got lost, but the lady on the desk was very helpful directing us to where we needed to go. The girl who taught my daughter was was lovely and they really got on well and we will definitely be coming back for regular lessons.

  • took my son for his first pony ride and he absolutely loved it. Lovely staff and very well run yard with beautiful horses. All very efficient and organised. Would recommend this place to anyone, and he and myself can't wait for the next ride out.

  • I was extremely disappointed today when we arrived at 10:15am ( our appointment was at 11:00am) outside the stable to find out that there was no parking or no way of getting into the park as it was closed off. I then asked a member of staff for advise and she was clueless. After driving around for 45 min and calling the reception for directions, we arrived at 11:01am. The staff took their time to allocate horses and made us fill in forms before the kids could get on the horses. By the time our kids were on the horses, it was 11:15. The kids were taken literally out the park, on a short pathway and back. When I asked staff member why my daughter went on such a short ride, I was told because I had turned up late! I feel had this been explained to use before we had got onto the horses, we might have chosen to cancel our appointment and rescheduled. £35 is already a lot of money for a 30 min ride but to give someone a ride for 12-15min is not acceptable at all. If clients are late, horses should be already allocated and ready and forms could be filled in while the children are riding so save time. Annoyingly, staff weren't even helpful when it came to parking. I will never go to them again and would definitely not recommend them. As a business owner myself, sometimes you need to be a little flexible especially when someone has not deliberately come late or accomadate them in a different day. We had 3 very disappointed children afterward and £105 less in our pockets!!!!
