I absolutely loved the London Eye. It was raining when I went, but the staff got us quickly on to the wheel as fast as possible. You will get a great view, even though it is a bit pricey. (It's worth it!) It does go slowly but you're able to feel yourself moving. Times are generally exaggerated, as my trip (in the rain) took roughly 15 minutes. You have a fantastic view of Big Ben as well! Do make sure to get there early. Lines may be long. We only waited for 30 minutes, but many lines can take a couple hours.
Great views of London that you won't see anywhere else! The London Eye was a great experience. They don't cramp too many people in to each carriage which is awesome because you can move around freely and see the views from each side. Beware: the only toilets nearby you have to pay for so go in a restaurant if you have lunch or before you leave! We also couldn't find anywhere to fill up our drink bottles and were there on a 30 degree day! Overall an awesome experience!
Love the London Eye! We're Merlin premium annual pass holders so queuing for us was very fast and painless. The staff there is very friendly and helpful and get you into a capsule very quickly. We were on board in less than 10 minutes from joining the queue. The views on a clear day are spectacular and the on board computers are great for identifying the buildings that you see and give you basic information about them. There is of course the obligatory photo op towards the end for souvenir hunters if that's your thing but you need to get into the right spot (s) on board to get a good one. There are markings on the floor to show you where to stand. A really enjoyable experience for all ages
Did the champagne experience on the eye and having the lounge access and drink on the ride were awesome bonus. The best part was skipping the line. The trip around itself was lovely, we got to a lovely view of the city which was a nice way to start a London trip. There are also lost of other tourists options close by the London eye which is awesome because the trip around the eye doesn't last that long. Taking good photos is a bit challenging because of the glair on the windows. Would definitely do it again if I come back to London.
Definitely a must for London. The queues are long but i managed to find a perfect hour, waiting for just 15 minutes!! ( around 1.30 pm). While in the capsule, all I can say is that you get an amazing view, which is totally worth it for the price and for the 30 mins ride. However, the glass is a bit odd and you can't really see outside that great from some angles. Also, there are too many people in them and you can't really make amazing photos. Overall, you should definitely try it for yourself.
