A venture by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, The Narrow is located at Limehouse on the banks of the river Thames. With stunning views of the water, delicious food and an extensive list of wines, ales and spirits, it is one of the best restaurants in London.
The atmosphere and dress code is smart-casual and relaxed. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The food is unpretentious and the service excellent. Great for a Sunday lunch or relaxed evening with friends!
- This is not a budget friendly option; prices rival those of fine dining restaurants.
- Make a reservation before you go.
- If only going for a drink, enjoy the outdoor seating.

We have reserved the private room upstairs. Prior to that we had our drinks downstairs. Staff is helpful and friendly. There is a nice outdoor seating place, lovely, looking at the river. The food we had was delicious as well. I would recommend this place.
Wonderful panoramic view over the Thames from Greenwich peninsula most of the way to Tower Bridge, especially good as the sun goes down. We were in a party of 60 & the food was still excellent, which is an impressive achievement we all felt. Portions are small & arty, so probably not the place if you're genuinely hungry, but if you want a light meal in which every course is as good as you can ever imagine it being this is certainly worth a visit. Its possible of course that the size of our group may have had some bearing on portion sizes of course.
We went today for the Sunday Roast. I had beef and my husband had the pork. It was lovely. I just wish I had asked for more gravy as I love my roast to swim in gravy and the gravy here was delicious. I had the salmon to start and it melted in your mouth as did my husbands chicken liver parfait. We sat in the conservatory and all the staff were lovely, helpful and friendly. Can’t wait to go there again. We will willlingly drive here again from Kent. A proper tasty roast. Not the less than mediocre meals that some restaurants dare to call a roast and somehow people accept that?! Try here. Nice setting. Good food and lovely staff. Definitely not overpriced.
Had a memorable evening here. Great food. Great views up and down the river from the conservatory. Great service. Just perfect! As my American guests put it: "This place lives up to Gordon Ramsay's reputation" (and the summer set menu was a bargain!).
The food continues to decline here. One can tell that the owner is not in attendance. However, by comparison to the alternatives this place is streaks ahead of anything else. We enjoyed a wonderful evening here with our daughter of five, who was made welcome. The food was ok, the wine excellent, the ambiance great.
