The Narrow, London Reviews - Write a Review
Awful service. lovely views. When we came there around midday on Sunday, the place was empty. The manager was having a meeting with the waiters. No one greeted us. We sat down. No one came to take the order. There were a dozen of staff members sauntering around the room. They served a customer who arrived to a table with reservation. We waited for 20 minutes and then left. No one said anything on our way out. The views are incredible - but you may as well just walk along the riverside to enjoy them. The experience would be more satisfying.
Let's face it. You're coming here for the views. You won't be disappointed. The drinks were alright prices for London. The staff were polite I went on a Sunday evening so it was relatively quiet. In the summer they open up the doors to let a cool breeze through. The apple juice I tried (it was a post gig drink and I was driving) wasn't great but I fall under probably the 0.5% of clientele so I presume the drinks are alright - I heard no complaints from my mate anyway. There's a decent spot outside for the smokers. The food looked great but I didn't try any as I was full from a previous thing. The furniture is actually something to compliment them on because we sat in these chairs with enormous backs that faced the water. Exactly what I want on a Sunday evening. Coming again. Maybe on a date, maybe to chill. Doable for both for sure!
I was a bit wary about coming here due to the bad reviews but it was a beautiful day and I wanted a riverside walk so I thought why not. I'm soooo glad we came. Lovely, friendly, attentive staff. Delicious food, we went for the set menu which was great value and we were forced to share a dessert because the portions for starter and main were so big. Beautiful views, reasonably priced wine list. I will definitely be back for the roast.
Went for a drink by the water on a sunny bank holiday. Nice outdoor seating area for just drinks and then some tables for food only. Slightly pretentious atmosphere but staff are welcoming. Great place when the weather is nice for cocktails. Prices weren't too expensive, I would say more for a special occasion than just a regular night/day.
Great food although Ramsey maybe shot himself in the foot with the "hype". It's better the under promise and over deliver than to over promise and under deliver. It is very good food, don't get me wrong, but somehow you come expecting miracles after watching Gordon's TV shows. I took one star off because the glass that my cocktail came in smelled a bit like a fish bowl. I think the dishwasher needed to be cleaned or serviced. The fish and chip was stellar, and I'm picky. Grew up in New England and raised on fish and chip. This hit the mark.
