The main attraction of Long Beach is the City Beach on the waterfront. Referred to as Junipero Beach by the locals, this beach faces south. If you do not like too much sun on your face, this beach is perfect for you. You will often see families relaxing on the beach or playing in the sand. This beach is quite wide, so young children can definitely be brought here along with their parents. Looking to do a spot of fishing? head to pier on the beach, most of the good catch is around here. Public restrooms are available near the entrance of the beach. The two snack bars on the beach also aid families visiting the beach. You will barely see a hungry soul on the beach thanks to the availability of food through the snack bars. If you don’t want to walk on the sand, you can walk in the Bluff Park that stretches alongside the beach but is covered with grass.

  • Bus stop – Ocean & Paloma NW, Ocean and Redondo NW

  • Should have known something was up when it wasn't hard to find parking (and cheap) and not a lot of people were there. The beach looked beautiful when walking on the sidewalk but once we got closer the beaches color was a dark brown. The waves swept in old bags of chips, tampons, debris.. etc. I was in shock when I saw a women letting her infant child play in a heap of garbage.. I couldn't get off that beach quick enough! Please do not bring your child to this beach unless your okay with them playing with crack needles.

  • The beach wasn't crowded, but there is a lot of trash on the beach an also, in the water. When I was there there was kids play with the trash in the water. I would not go here just go to a nice beach like Myrtle Beach sc.

  • I love that it so nice. I love that it so fun also it a good place to go with the family and spend time together and be happy.

  • We LOVED it!! On the way from San Diego to LA, we stopped at Long Beach to visit the aquarium and thought we would spend a few mins in the beach but ended up spending 4 hours. We went here on a weekday so not sure how crowded it is on the weekends but on the say we went, there were very few people and it was clean and nice. The weather was awesome and the white sand is beautiful. The view here is wallpaper worthy. The only reason I gave a 4 was because of the restrooms, they were very dirty and I wish a ace that's so attractive has someone frequently checking and mantsijing cleanliness of the restrooms.

  • My family would always come to this beach. Every year it gets worse. Found lots of floting trash, glass, clothes and lots boats. Pretty sure water is carrying something in it...very awful its turned out to be. Very disappointed
