  • Quirky doesn't really do this place justice. Amazing, has to be seen to be believed

  • Full of 'cool weird stuff' and worth a stop if you're in the area. Staff were friendly but not as eccentric as the environment, I had a pint of cider which tasted like it came straight from a can. Love a pub with character so giving this 4 stars

  • Really quirky and interesting. Great food and lovely staff.

  • A thoroughly quirky pub and well-kept beer.

  • There's a reason it's called the Highwayman. By the time you've taken some photos of the eccentric decor you realise you're being robbed blind. Hand over twelve of your hard earned pounds for a lump of cheddar cheese and a pickled egg (down as a ploughmans on the menu). Then be swindled for another two for a quarter pint of soda water and... a tap water. Add six pounds for "cheesy chips" (quite possibly 50p a chip) and you won't get change from a twenty. It's not just the food that leaves you feeling queasy. But to be fair we should have guessed - the pub is based on theft of weary travellers after all.
