A public park nestled along the Colorado River, the West Wetlands Park occupies an area of over 110 acres and features numerous walking trails for public recreation. The park is abundant with grassy lands where people can be found flying kites, practicing yoga or playing various sports. Picnics, weddings, field trips, barbeques, bird watching, and photography are common activities enjoyed here. The adjacent pond is loaded with red-ear sunfish, catfish, bluegill, carp, mullet, largemouth bass and rainbow trout providing excellent fishing opportunities. Swings, playgrounds, monkey bars, slides, and a climbing wall make it a favorite location for kids’ recreation. Numerous special events like the Colorado river balloon festival, marathons and movies are also hosted regularly at this park.
