  • Anyone ever heard of the buried gold there by an ancient civilization? Reportedly discovered using a radio x-ray machine by geophysicist & mining engineer George W. Shuffelt in 1939? Interesting how a large scale excavation followed in 1949? 😎

  • Well this is a really cool memorial right below the high school but it could be.kept up a bit better. You would not want to go here afterdark because well it woul1d be dark and there are people who sleep here and on the nearby hills. It is definitely worth visiting if you are in/near downtown/chinatown area. Also they are putting up two huge apartment buildings in the area so amyne they will clean the memorial up a bit.

  • Walked by today and looks like this memorial is under renovation. Hopefully the waterfall will be reactivated.

  • Nice little memorial and under renovation
