Grand Central Market Reviews & Ratings
I found this market by accident and was really happy I did. It is in a huge building which goes from one block to the next and has access from streets on both sides. Parking is an issue but if you work downtown LA or are staying nearby it's great to walk to There's a mixture of small restaurants, food stands and farmers market vendors. I had so much fun looking at all the different food available; sushi, Chinese food, pizza, sub sandwiches, Vietnamese food, Mexican food, Thai food and just about anything you can imagine. Many of the food stands were family owned and run. The different smells coming from each food stand were overwhelming. This is more like a giant warehouse than a regular building with concrete floors and a large open ceiling. Insider tip: take a tour through the building before deciding on your meal. There are vendors towards the center of the building with lower prices. Once you decide where to eat get in line quickly as it tends to be very busy and tricky to wait in lines in the narrow lanes between vendors. Kids would really enjoy checking this place out. Finding a place to sit was challenging. There is a large outdoor patio that's a good place to seat and eat.
It took a decade but much needed improvement on this location downtown L.A. It's much better on the 👁️'s on the (Hill-side street)!!! 💕(LOVE IT)!!! Keep up the good work!!! Everyone seems to be much more relaxed and happy!! Good work (DOWNTOWN- L.A.)!!! 🤟-100 per cent! The food more appetizer delicious flavorful (YUMMY)? God bless you all and have a great day 👌. 🤗
One of my favorite spots when visiting DTLA. There is a lot of options for food, you get the LA experience and Angels landing is right across the street. Highly recommend the peanut butter and jelly stand. Always one of my favorite spots. Also the Golden Road brewery is nice on Sunday fun day. It gets crowded but well worth the waits!
The market under went some renovations not too long ago and I have to say it has been for the better. Lots of great spots to dine at and there's something for everyone. Produce selection is good-typically it's based on what's in season. In need for some Asian herbs or medicine? There's a place for that too. Stop by and enjoy the day walking around and sampling goodies, or just dash in and out for a quick bite, but be prepared for lines!
Eclectic combination of food vendors under one nicely presented roof. Plenty of seating on the weekend I visited, but I’m guessing it can get busy later in the day. Tried the tacos, breakfasts, coffee...all were good. If you’re in the area and hungry/thirsty, I’d recommend as you’ll definitely find something you like
