The iconic sign overlooking the city, who does not know about this monument/attraction. Formerly known as Hollywoodland Sign, it’s America’s ancient and cultural landmark located in Los Angeles. Originally created in 1923, this sign is spelled out in 44-foot tall and 352 feet long and was gifted to Ginger Rogers by Howard Hughes in 1940. This massive sign makes some frequent appearances in Hollywood films and TV serials and is the most popular attraction for the tourists and photographers. If you happen to visit this place in the evening, you can also see the city lights. The parking space is limited, so get there early to find your spot and don’t forget to click a picture of yourself with the sign on the background.

Hollywood Sign Overlook Reviews & Ratings

  • great park with a separate area for the little ones. great views of the city and the HOLLYWOOD sign. highly recommend if your not from around there or have toddlers or dogs.

  • Although many say so, it's not the best spot to take pictures with Hollywood sign. The best one is up on the way TO this park :) Park is nice and spacious. And of course many people take pictures there. Beautiful place :)

  • This is a really cool place to go on a long, but easy walk. It is very quiet and very scenic. Yes, there is a giant fence around the reservoir, but it is still pretty to look at. It is roughly 3 miles around the reservoir so it will take a little over an hour to complete the loop. There is an unpaved area in front of the entrance which has plenty of parking. We didn't realize this and parked in the neighborhood. Either place would work for parking. The only downside of this place is how "difficult" it is to get to. The real difficult isn't because the streets are super narrow and small, but because you always have the fear that some driver will speed through a corner and straight into you.

  • Great place to view the Hollywood sign! The park will have lots of people but won't feel crowded. A little concerning there's a sign that says beware of rattlesnakes on the play ground. Up hill the driving was a little crazy (we had a suburban and it was TIGHT) but if you don't mind the walk it's uphill but my sister did it in only a few min. Have fun!!

  • There might be an issue with parking and finding a toilet. However, this park definitely worth visiting. It is a great spot to take pictures of a Hollywood sign or just go for a walk with friends. The view from the hills surrounding the park is picturesque. Keep in mind that the park is always filled with tourists and people with dogs.
