Madame Tussauds Hollywood, Los Angeles Reviews
I’ve seen these in every major city and resisted going in as I figured it to be a glorified tourist trap. While in Hollywood I finally decided that if one was going to be decent it would be the one here. I don’t think anyone actually pays the listed $30.95 admission ticket. We got in for $15 each. It’s self guided and you can take photos with the figures. I’d say it’s a 50/50 on if they’re “wow” quality. They all definitely resemble who they’re supposed to be but some they nailed and others are OK. It was definitely short and at $15 I felt like I KINDA got what I paid for with maybe paying a bit too much. But whatever checked it off the list. Probably won’t go to others now that I’ve seen this one. I wish the Hollywood one was a bit bigger and more “wow.”
Enjoyed the visit, not my personal first choice, but my wife insisted and I’m glad she did. The kids had a lot of fun as we were able to go at our pace. All of the details were amazing and it is encouraged that you use the props to pose for photos. At the end they offer the opportunity to print 4 photos and download the rest they took for $40 which wasn’t a bad deal. You can also take all of your own photos with your device.
This place was absolutely amazing. All the wax figures were interactive and looked so real. Many of the displays had capes or hats or props that you could pose with. It’s 3 floors and it was so awesome. We spent around 2 hours here.
The wax museum is an intriguing place to visit. Went to Hollywood on vacation and this was hands down the coolest experience I had while there. They had a virtual reality experience inside (extra cost of course). Wax figures are so detailed, definitely also a bit eerie but would definitely go there again.
We enjoyed the museum. It was smaller than I expected, but it was a good experience for the kids, who had never been to a wax museum. We got a BOGO deal, but it still seemed very expensive for the time we spent there (less than an hour). I would say that it's worth it as a one-time experience, but not if you've visited other similar museums. Especially because of how pricey it is.
