  • The Last Bookstore may be the best bookstore in all of the USA. It's a used (they have new books too) bookstore in a historic, large building in downtown LA. There are so many books and rooms with all sorts of books from novels to kids books to travel. It's two levels with a few art shops on the second floor. As you wander through it, you'll notice many corners to photograph from a book vault to a book tunnel to a beautiful hole in a bookshelf. This bookstore is a truly magical experience!

  • If you love books you'll love this place ! Not only is the bookstore unique so are the books ! It must have been my lucky day because I ran into a gentleman who helped build the bookcases and he told me some history about the place. That was an added bonus. So check this place out you won't be disappointed !

  • Went and visited on the weekend and it was pretty packed, as to be expected. Despite the random lines of people there to take photos, it was an overall good experience. Staff was helpful in showing me to the areas I was interested in. Left with three books for a third of the regular retail value. Also, the aesthetics and environment as well as the crowd was pleasant.

  • There are numerous things to love about the Last Bookstore. Books, yes! They are reasonably priced and arranged in such a fashion as you can find your area of Interest easily. The staff picks make the whole experience much like a curated Museum, even. But the artistic venues upstairs and the idiosyncratic displays up there make the whole thing an even greater experience.

  • Beautiful place! Love the atmosphere. The selection is a bit unusual though, came in for a popular business book and didn't find it, despite searching both floors, new arrivals and the used books section. Great place for rare connoisseur fiction and music albums though. Definitely check out the book labyrinth, where the books are stacked without external support to form a mini roof (photo attached)
