Venice Beach, Los Angeles Reviews
No visit to Los Angeles is complete without a trip to Venice Beach. Its canals and beaches are spectacular, but the biggest hit is undeniably the Venice Beach Boardwalk. This is a truly entertaining spot where street performers juggle, dance, sculpt and sing for passersby. Shop for souvenirs, grab a refreshing drink and bring some small bills for a stroll on the boardwalk. After stopping to admire a live performer, many visitors tip a dollar or two to show appreciation.
This place feels like it goes on forever. Tons of souvenir shops and food shops. Interesting shops and questionable shops too. It has this grungy atmosphere to it. The beach itself was pleasant and refreshing. The time we went there were not a lot of people swimming or sunbathing. It felt like we had the beach to ourselves it was lovely. Everyone was shopping down the strip. It was a nice experience overall.
Very packed, not worth it. Any attempt to find parking in the area will leave you searching for 30+ minutes and 20-30 less dollars in your wallet. Taking the bus or walking far are really the only better options. Once there it’s still over crowded with people! There are better beaches nearby that you’re still going to see the same ocean, same sand, but better experience. Highly suggest Santa Monica over this one if looking for a touristy-beach. If looking for something more relaxed there’s a nice beach by Ocean Park.
We had a wonderful time at the beach! It was my grandson's first time visiting there - since he was here on vacation. It wasn't over-crowed where we were. Although I didn't pack an umbrella or complete beach survival kit, we made out just fine.
