The former home of the fifth US president James Monroe, Oak Hill is a plantation and mansion which is also known as James Monroe House. This National Historic Landmark was built with advice from the architects of White House- Thomas Jefferson and James Hoban. The architectural features of the mansion are worth watching and as the mansion is a private residence and not open to the public, you can witness the historical site from a distance.
