It is this bath that holds the spiritual Lourdes water. People from all over the world come here to take a dip into this water to purify themselves. According to the history, the Lourdes water is that water which flows from a spring in the Grotto of Massabielle (the shrine) in the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes.   • I visited Lourdes 36 years ago with my disabled son on a Knights of Columbus trip and I do not believe that we paid to go into the baths. I see much has changed and I would like to bring my 2 sick friends… must you pay to be dipped in the bath ?

    • I don't think you have to make any calls prior to your visit to The Baths. You can directly go stand in the queue and wait for your turn.

  • I will visit Lourdes as a solo traveler on 16th Nov for 5 hours (11am -4pm). I wish to visit the baths, would it be possible in such a short time? Arriving by bus ave de la garre. Any help if this is possible please?

    • Yes, you can easily visit The Baths as it will hardly take a couple of hours and the site is less than less than 10 minutes away from ave de la garre. But, as far as I know, the baths are open from 10 am to 12 pm and from 2 pm to 4 pm only. So, I would suggest, call them on  33-0562427878 first and then plan your day. If you want, you can check some of the best tours that will take you around according to your schedule.
