Built in the year 1818. Wat Aham is a Buddhist temple and was built on a site of a much older temple that dated back to 1527. The temple of Wat Aham consists of a sim and two stupas. The temple worships both the cultures of Buddhism and spirit worshipers. Outside the temple are two very old Banyan trees that are home to Devata Luang which is considered the guardian spirits of the town of Luang Prabang. Temple has a three- tiered beautifully decorated roof and situated next to the temple are the statues of Hanuman and Ravana, two of the most important characters from the Hindu epic, Ramayana. The temple façade show intricately decorated structure in white, gold and red.
