Located down the Sakkaline Road in the town of Luang Prabang is Der Tempel Vat Pak Khan Khammungkhun, a Buddhist temple. Der Tempel Vat Pak Khan Khammungkhun is located along the Nam Khan river and has many living quarters of novice monks. The temple has a traditional Lao architecture and the exteriors are painted in white and red. The temple has a wooden two-tiered roof and the insides of the temple are supported by columns that are beautifully painted in red and gold. Situated inside the temple is the statue of Buddha in a sitting position.
