The Residency Lucknow, Lucknow Reviews - Write a Review
Probably one of the best well maintained places in Lucknow city , very well maintained and tidy place. Worth a visit if you are in the city. Has huge lawns with lush greenery , has ruins as well probably from british era. Has a museum in the middle of the area. It is spread over quite a big area . Best enjoyed in evening's. Good place to enjoy long morning or evening walks. Street hawkers available outside to cater to street food.
Worth the visit for anyone who visits Lucknow and also interested in historical architectural sites. Though most of the buildings are stand as ruins, it's a great sight and many things to know and learn of country's history before independence. They have even preserved walls hit by cannon as it is. The museum inside has got good collection of photographs of rulers back then and drawings of old Lucknow.
Great historical place.... existing from the revolt of 1857. Symbol of the bravery of our soldiers of that tym. The museum has a collection of the oldest things, Awesome looks for any type of shooting and photography. Full greenery, you will enjoy the place
British Residency is regarded as a National Monument and is one of the major sites of the Revolt of 1857 and the historic battle known as the Seige of Lucknow. The site was the residence of the British Resident General which was stormed during the battle. The structure though in ruins after the battle has still been preserved till date with the bullet grazed walls and is surrounded by gardens which attract a great number of tourist crowd.
Well maintained heritage site. No noise pollution, no environment pollution. Parking present. Take ticket from counter
