Lugano is the leading city in the Italian-speaking Swiss canton of Ticino. The city lies at the intersection of the William Tell Express and the Bernina Express — two of country's most spectacular train rides. Tourists can travel by a rack railway from the lakeside resort of Capolago to the peak of the hill and enjoy the picturesque views.
