Attended the 2nd performance of Don Giovanni which I would rate 4, this review is on the opera house. It is somewhat small in the theater itself, but quite nice with sculptures and gold on the walls. Buying tickets was frustrating. I paid mid-range and was located toward the front on the ground floor. If I had seen prices for the seats I would have upgraded to something a bit better, probably 2nd floor. There are 4 floors if I remember right. Very beautiful inside the building regardless.
What a beautiful building inside and out!! We enjoyed a cherry wine next to the fountain before our show. Programmes were in English and Ukrainian and the lady at the ticket office spoke English. If you book at the ticket office, they only accept cash. But the coffee shop on the corner across the road accepts cards. We'll definitely go again when we visit Lviv! Tickets ranged from 50-600 hryvnia.
Stunning venue with a value that is really hard to beat. We sat for Don Pasquale near the front of the stalls for just over £10 in total. The show was terrifically well performed in the original Italian (worth noting however that the subtitles are unsurprisingly only in Ukrainian, do pick an easy opera to follow if you don't know either language!)
The building is superb, inside and out. We went to a show, not knowing what it was, as it was in Ukrainian when we booked. It was a couple of talented young musicians playing the cello and piano. It was very good and very affordable.
We booked the concert tickets 2 weeks ago from his official website, for tonight 19:00 to 20:00. When we reach there today 18:45, chaos inside, we were informed our concert done today 15:00 already, and they only left a changing message in their own tickets office. Although while booking on line, I left my Ukraine cellphone number but never informed. When I want to refund my tickets, the staff said they don't care that, only way is that we can stay for another concert but no reserved seats. I give 2 stars rank is the reason that good interior and out looking of this Opera but the service is very bad, terrible!
