Folkestone Castle, which is locally known as Caesar’s Camp, is located to the north of Folkestone, Kent. The castle was first excavated by the researcher Augustus Pitt Rivers in 1878. The castle is considered to be built during the Norman conquest in 1095. It exists on a natural mound dated from the 11th and 12th centuries.
