African Museum Of Lyon - Review
Not exactly the sort of place you’d expect to find this, but hey, let’s roll with it. The museum is actually pretty well done and it’s one of the oldest of its kind in the country. Created in 1861 by the Societe des Missions Africaines, the museum exhibits are divided into Everyday Life (Level 1), Social Life (Level 2), and Religious Life (Level 3). These are mostly focused on West Africa and the Gulf of Guinea. Spread out over three floors, there are 2300 permanent objects such as utilitarian objects fishing tools, weaving implements, ornaments, weapons, textiles, brass figurines, musical instruments, royal emblems, objects of worship (traditional or Catholic), statuettes and ritualistic masks.

African Museum Of Lyon, Lyon Reviews
One of my all time favorite meals! We got the last 2 open seats at lunch (make a reservation!) and we were the only 2 Americans (good sign!) We were hosted like family and sat with us to make sure our order would be the best. I got a salad with warm mushrooms, so so good! And the fish Quenelle with lobster bisque sauce, one of the best savory meals I've ever had! My husband got the rabbit pate then the beef cheek and loved it. After a cafe they insisted we had a "on the house" grape' we left so full, and oh so happy!
Very nice place full of beautiful objects and pictures. Will be closed soon unfortunately.
Very glad we made our way to this museum. Beautiful artwork and interesting artifacts. I would reccomend!
